All About Me

Hello! I’m Victoria Howard, the creative behind The Twisted Kitty. I am based in a charming area of Devon called Tiverton (UK).​

I have always been creative, studying textile art in college and then fashion and surface textiles in university where I focused my skills in knitting, weaving, and knot work. I manipulated materials to become wearable fabrics with a trapped aesthetic, inspired by the natural world, such as branches and root systems.

Since then I have been busy exploring many creative processes as and when I find time alongside my day job. After I welcomed my first child into the world I started to teach myself wire wrapping; I loved how the wire could create beautiful natural shapes and wearable art. After the birth of my second child I took the plunge and decided to start The Twisted Kitty.

As well as wire wrapping I have also been experimenting with copper electroforming which is a fun mix of alchemy and magic and more recently soft soldering. Mixing my craft with my love of gemstones has been the perfect fit.

When I’m not working my day job or looking after my boys, you might find me crafting intricate wire-wrapped jewellery inspired by the ever-changing beauty of nature and the seasons. Whether it’s capturing the intricate shapes of trees or the colour of golden leaves of autumn, my creations reflect the magic of the natural world. I also enjoy exploring woodlands, reading, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. I believe in living a life filled with wonder and curiosity.

My passion is to create pieces that are a reflection of everything that inspires me: nature, symbolism, and the magic of the moon. I am devoted to excellence, creativity, and continuous learning, and I am passionate about my small business.
